We decided to chat with the admiral and ask a few questions. Today is not the best time in the country’s economy. Therefore, we decided to find out how the company survived the crisis.

Was there any anti-crisis plan at the beginning of 2019 when Covid came?

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the entire industry development scenario, both in Ukraine and around the world. Businesses have faced many challenges. On the one hand, the number of applications for online loans has increased significantly. But on the other hand, companies were forced to revise their scoring models and reduce lending volumes, to reduce the chance of non-refund. In addition, in 2020, there were significant changes in the legislation regulating the activities of non-banking organizations. Some were linked to the pandemic, others were the result of market and industry developments. Despite the challenges and difficulties, there are new opportunities. For example, for Moneyveo, 2020 was a year of breakthrough solutions, changing the performance standards for non-banking organizations and fintech industries. All the time we were in search of the best offers, constantly introducing innovations and honing the service to meet customers’ needs in accordance with current global trends.

It is worth noting that the pandemic has significantly accelerated the digitalization of many industries. And we once again ensured that the Digital 360 strategy we chose is correct and effective. One of the main achievements of 2020 was our entry into the Asian market. Despite the global lockdown, we successfully launched a business in Vietnam. Moreover, already in the first days of the service’s operation, online loans began to be issued there.

And how did you survive at the beginning of a full-scale war?

From the first day of the war until the second half of April, Moneyveo canceled the accrual of any interest on all its loan products. Since the beginning of the war, we have ceased business activities. First of all, we had to provide psychological support to the employees, for some, it was necessary to organize an evacuation to a safe place and to help our colleagues who were at the front with ammunition (in the first days of the war, it was especially lacking). Then all the efforts of the company were directed to help our military. This has been and remains one of the priority vectors of Moneyveo’s corporate social responsibility. Over the past four years, the company has continuously supported the Ukrainian military. Since 2018, Moneyveo has been cooperating with the operational command “North”.

Before the war, the company provided the military with office equipment, plotters for printing maps, and telecommunications equipment to ensure high-quality communications. During the period of Russian aggression, employees, on their initiative, collected and transferred funds to cover the urgent needs of intelligence officers. Moneyveo also helped to restore the center’s infrastructure, which was damaged due to the battles for Chernihiv, by donating furniture, equipment, etc., to the fighters.

The company continues to take care of Ukrainian servicemen who were injured. Since 2020, Moneyveo has financially supported the “Revived Soldiers Ukraine” Charity Fund, which aims to provide medical assistance and services to our soldiers in the US and Ukraine. Previously, we have already purchased portable ultrasound machines for military hospitals. In addition, we purchased a generator and a thermal imager for military units, transferred more than UAH 12,000,000 to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, bought several pieces of equipment and various equipment for soldiers, and sent funds for humanitarian aid to victims of the war.
